Modular Play Instrument for Cognition Research

A modular research instrument for studying toddler behavior during free play.

Through MIT’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, I designed a research instrument for the Early Childhood Cognition Lab: a box with interchangeable modules for studying how toddlers explore during free play. I designed and tested 3D-printed threaded connectors for attaching the modules, then assembled the main box from panels, attached the connectors, and painted the enclosure.
